Overview:
The ESR test measures how quickly red blood cells (erythrocytes) settle at the bottom of a test tube over a specified period, typically one hour. A faster than normal sedimentation rate can indicate the presence of inflammation in the body, which may be caused by conditions like infection, autoimmune disorders, or certain cancers.

What it detects:

Who should get it:
