Ck-Mb

Overview:
The CK-MB test measures the level of creatine kinase-MB in the blood. CK-MB is an enzyme found primarily in the heart muscle, and elevated levels can indicate heart muscle damage, commonly seen in conditions like myocardial infarction (heart attack).

What it detects:
It detects elevated levels of CK-MB, which can be a sign of recent heart muscle injury, such as from a heart attack or other cardiovascular conditions.

Who should get it:
Individuals with symptoms of a heart attack, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or discomfort, or those at risk for heart disease, may need this test. It is also used to assess heart muscle damage in patients with acute chest pain.
