The S. Bilirubin test measures the level of bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is a substance produced by the breakdown of red blood cells and is processed by the liver. This test helps evaluate liver function and detect conditions like jaundice or liver disease.

What it detects:
High bilirubin levels may indicate liver disease, bile duct obstruction, or hemolysis (destruction of red blood cells). Low bilirubin levels are usually not concerning but can indicate certain rare conditions.

Who should get it:
Individuals with jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes) which may suggest high bilirubin levels. People with liver disease symptoms, such as fatigue, abdominal pain, or dark urine.
